Privacy Policy

Effective May 5, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Best Day Labs ("we", "us", or "our") handles your information when you use the Riff mobile application (the "App").

1. Audio data

When you analyze a song, the audio is compressed on your device and uploaded to our servers for chord, beat, and lyric detection. The audio is processed in memory and is not permanently stored on our servers. Analysis results (chords, beats, timing data) are returned to your device.

2. Catalog & Supabase

If you choose to publish chord data to the community catalog, that data (song title, artist, chords, and metadata) is stored in Supabase, a third-party database service. Published catalog entries are visible to other Riff users. No audio files are stored in the catalog.

3. Sign-In with Apple

Riff offers optional Sign-In with Apple for catalog features such as publishing and voting on chord contributions. We receive only the anonymous user identifier provided by Apple.

4. Lyrics processing

Lyrics may be generated using server-side speech recognition on the uploaded audio, matched from public lyric databases, or processed on-device. We do not store transcribed lyrics on our servers beyond the duration of the analysis request.

5. No ads or tracking

Riff does not contain any advertising, analytics SDKs, or third-party tracking services. We do not collect usage data, device identifiers, or location information.

6. Local data

Your song library, preferences, and playback history are stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. This data is not transmitted to us.

7. Children's privacy

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The App does not require an account for its core functionality.

8. Contact
