Remmy records audio only while you're asleep and you've started a session — and everything it hears (the audio, the transcripts, the sounds it detects) stays on your device. Recordings are never uploaded to us or anyone else. Transcription happens entirely on your iPhone. There are no accounts and no cloud sync.
Remmy ("the App") is a sleep companion that listens while you sleep and surfaces the funny, surprising, and shareable things you say and the sounds you make — sleep-talk, snoring, and unexpected noises. Privacy is foundational to how it's built: the App is designed so that your recordings and everything derived from them never leave your device.
When you start a sleep session, Remmy uses your microphone to listen for sound. When it detects talking, snoring, or other noises, it saves short audio clips of those moments, along with an on-device transcript of any speech. This audio and its contents are:
Remmy transcribes speech using Apple's on-device speech recognition. The App requires on-device recognition; if a device cannot perform speech recognition locally, Remmy simply skips transcription rather than sending any audio to Apple's servers. Your audio is not uploaded for transcription.
Detection of snoring and other sounds is performed on your device using Apple's Sound Analysis framework. No audio is sent anywhere for this analysis.
Remmy does not require or offer account creation. There is no sign-up, no login, no email collection, and no user profile.
The App asks for two iOS permissions so it can do its job:
You can revoke either permission at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security.
If you enable the optional bedtime reminder, the App schedules a local notification on your device. This is handled entirely by iOS; no notification data is sent to us.
Your recordings, transcripts, and sleep history are stored exclusively on your device. There is no cloud sync, no backup service, and no remote storage of any kind. When you share a clip or a card, that sharing happens through iOS's standard share sheet at your choice, to the destination you pick.
The App does not include third-party analytics or advertising SDKs, and it does not build advertising profiles or sell data. Your recordings and their contents are never shared with third parties.
Note: this website uses Google Analytics for basic page-visit statistics. That is separate from the App and involves no recording data.

Remmy is a paid subscription app. Purchases are processed by Apple through StoreKit. We do not receive or store your payment information. See our Terms of Service for subscription details.
