Blindspot shows public information about where surveillance cameras are. It is an awareness tool, not a guarantee — the data is imperfect, cameras move, and the App is not a substitute for paying attention to the road.
Agreement
These terms are between you and Best Day Labs and govern your use of the Blindspot app ("the App"). By using the App you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use the App.
Blindspot is also subject to Apple's standard licence terms for App Store apps, the Apple Licensed Application End User License Agreement.
What the App is
Blindspot maps the locations of automated license plate readers and similar surveillance devices, warns you when you are approaching one, and can suggest driving routes that pass fewer of them. It is intended to help people understand where they are being recorded in public.
The data is not guaranteed
Camera locations come from OpenStreetMap, a public database contributed to and verified by volunteers, and are used under the Open Database License. That data is frequently incomplete and sometimes wrong.
You should assume the App does not know about every camera. A location may be missing, out of date, moved, removed, or simply mistaken. The direction and coverage area shown for a device is an estimate. Nothing in the App should be read as a claim that an area is unmonitored — the absence of a camera on the map means only that no one has recorded one there.
The App is provided for informational purposes only, on an "as is" basis, without warranties of any kind.
Drive safely and lawfully
Routes and warnings are suggestions. You are responsible for driving safely, obeying all traffic laws and signs, and paying attention to actual road conditions rather than to your phone. Do not interact with the App while driving.
The App is not a tool for evading law enforcement, and it must not be used to commit, plan, conceal, or escape from any crime. It does not detect police, speed enforcement, or checkpoints, and it makes no attempt to. Use it to understand public surveillance, not to break the law.
Don't do this
- Use the App to harass, stalk, or target any person
- Interfere with, damage, obstruct, or tamper with any camera or other equipment
- Submit deliberately false reports or disputes
- Scrape, bulk-extract, or redistribute the App's data other than as the underlying Open Database License permits
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive the source code of the App
Subscriptions
Blindspot requires a subscription. Pricing is shown in the App before you purchase and may vary by region.
- Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase.
- The subscription renews automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
- You can manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple Account settings after purchase.
Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us. Requests go through reportaproblem.apple.com.
Your content
If you report or dispute a camera, you grant us and the wider OpenStreetMap community the right to use that report to correct the data. Don't submit anything you don't have the right to submit.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Best Day Labs is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss arising from your use of or reliance on the App — including any consequence of camera data being incomplete, inaccurate, or out of date. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the App in the twelve months before the claim.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
No affiliation
Blindspot is independent. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any camera manufacturer, operator, law enforcement agency, or government body. Product and company names mentioned are used only to identify the equipment described and remain the property of their owners.
Changes and termination
We may update these terms; the current version is always posted here with its date. Continued use after a change means you accept it. We may suspend or discontinue the App, or any part of it, at any time.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Alabama, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
