Who we are

Blindspot ("the App") is made by Best Day Labs. This policy explains what the App does with your information. You can reach us at privacy@bestdaylabs.com.

No accounts

There is no sign-up, no login, no email collection, and no user profile. We do not know who you are.

Location

The App asks for location access so it can do the thing it exists to do: show you which surveillance cameras are around you, warn you before you reach one, and use where you are as the starting point for a route.

Your location is read on your device and used there. We do not receive it, store it, or transmit it to any server of ours — we do not operate a server that could receive it.

There are two levels of access, and the App asks for them separately:

• While using the App — the default. Location is used only while Blindspot is open.
• Always — optional, off unless you turn it on in Settings. This lets the App keep logging cameras you drive past when Blindspot isn't open. It uses more battery, and it is entirely your choice.

You can change or revoke either at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services.

Your exposure log

When you drive past a camera, the App records it in a database stored on your iPhone. That log is yours: it is never uploaded, never synced to a cloud service of ours, and never shared. You can delete the entire log at any time from inside the App (Settings → Exposure log → Open log → Delete log), and deleting the App removes it along with everything else.

Camera data

Camera locations come from OpenStreetMap and are used under the Open Database License. A copy ships inside the App, and the App periodically checks for a newer copy and downloads it. That check is a plain request for a static file. It carries no identifier, no location, and no account — nothing about you is included in it, and it is not logged against you.

Maps, directions, and search — what goes to Apple

The App draws its map with Apple Maps and uses Apple's directions and place search. This means some information necessarily leaves your device, and we want to be direct about it:

• The map requests map imagery for the area you're looking at.
• Directions send your starting point and destination to Apple in order to get a route back.
• Destination search sends what you typed, and the area you're searching in.

This information goes to Apple, not to us. We never see it. Apple's handling of it is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy; Apple states that Maps is designed so this data is not tied to your Apple Account. If you would rather not send anything at all, you can use the map and the camera warnings without ever requesting a route or running a search.

Purchases

Subscriptions are sold through Apple's In-App Purchase system. Apple processes the payment and tells the App only whether a subscription is active. We never see your name, card, or billing address.

No analytics, no advertising, no third parties

The App contains no analytics SDK, no advertising SDK, no crash-reporting SDK, and no third-party trackers. We do not sell, rent, or share personal information, because we do not collect it. (This website uses Google Analytics for basic visitor counts; the App does not.)

Children

Blindspot is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.

Your rights

Because the App holds no personal information about you on our side, there is nothing for us to export, correct, or delete on request. Everything the App knows lives on your device and is under your control: revoke location access in iOS Settings, delete the log inside the App, or delete the App to remove all of it.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new date at the top. Material changes will also be noted in the App.
