RevLine for iPhone
Email support@bestdaylabs.com and a person will answer. There is no ticket system and no bot.
Getting started
Mount your phone, open RevLine, pick a display and tap Start drive. The dashboard opens in landscape and fills the screen.
While a drive is open, tap the screen to bring up the controls: a Display row to change dashboards, a Sound row to change the engine, a speaker button to mute, and a close button. You can also swipe left or right on the dashboard to move between displays.
Do I need an OBD2 adapter?
No. Speed, heading, g-force, distance and your acceleration figures all come from sensors already in your iPhone. Every display, every engine sound and the whole drive history work without any hardware at all.
An adapter adds readings the phone cannot know: engine rpm, coolant, oil and intake temperature, boost, throttle position, engine load, battery voltage and fuel level. It is an upgrade, not a requirement.
The gauges are reading zero
If the car is not moving, that is correct — speed and g-force are zero when you are parked.
If you are moving and speed still reads zero, check that location access is allowed: iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → RevLine, set to While Using the App. A GPS fix can also take a minute under heavy cloud, in a tunnel or in a multi-storey car park.
Readings that need an adapter — rpm, coolant, boost — will stay empty until one is connected. RevLine leaves them blank rather than inventing a number.
My adapter will not connect
In the app, go to Settings → OBD2 adapter and work through these:
- Pick the right type. Bluetooth and Wi-Fi adapters connect in completely different ways. Choose the one that matches yours.
- Turn the ignition on. The diagnostic port is usually dead with the car off. The engine does not have to be running, but the ignition does have to be on.
- Push the adapter fully in. The port is normally under the dashboard on the driver’s side, near the steering column.
- Bluetooth adapters: allow Bluetooth for RevLine when asked. Most OBD2 adapters should not be paired in iOS Settings — the app finds them directly. If you paired one there and it will not connect, try forgetting it.
- Wi-Fi adapters: join the adapter’s own Wi-Fi network in iOS Settings first, and allow Local Network access when RevLine asks.
Still nothing? Email us with the adapter’s make and model, and your car’s make, model and year.
Some tiles on Live Data are dimmed
That is normal. Cars differ enormously in what they report, and a dimmed tile means that reading is not available on your car’s bus. Oil temperature and fuel level are the two most commonly missing. Nothing is broken and there is no setting to change.
I cannot hear the engine
- Check Settings → Sounds is on, and Engine sound beneath it.
- Playing an engine from the Sound tab is free. Hearing it while you drive needs a subscription.
- During a drive, tap the screen and check the speaker button in the corner is not muted.
- Turn the volume up. Engine sound plays even with the ringer switch on silent, and it mixes with music rather than stopping it — so if music is loud, the engine sits underneath it.
- Connect to your car stereo over Bluetooth or a cable for the best result. A phone speaker cannot reproduce the bottom end.
Changing units
Settings → Units. Speed, distance, temperature and acceleration are each set separately, so you can have miles per hour with Celsius if that is what you are used to. The gauge faces rescale with the setting, not just the numbers.
Making the tachometer match my car
Set your car’s redline at Settings → OBD2 adapter → Redline. The displays then size the rev counter to your engine and put the red zone where it actually is, instead of using the redline of the car the display was drawn from.
This works whether or not you own an adapter.
Managing your subscription
Subscriptions are billed by Apple, not by us. To change or cancel, open the Settings app on your iPhone, tap your name, then Subscriptions, and choose RevLine. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep access until the current period ends. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
Refunds are handled entirely by Apple. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. We cannot issue them, but tell us what went wrong and we will try to fix it.
I paid but it still shows the paywall
Open Settings → Restore purchases inside RevLine, and make sure you are signed in with the same Apple Account you bought with. If it still does not unlock, email us.
A display I want is not in the app
Tell us what it is. Send the car, the year and a photo or a link to the cluster if you have one, to alex@bestdaylabs.com. Requests genuinely do get built.
Deleting your data
Your drives live only on your iPhone. Delete all of them at Settings → Delete all drives, turn off recording at Settings → Save drives, or delete the app to remove everything at once.
There is nothing for us to delete on our side. RevLine has no accounts and no servers, and makes no network requests at all — see the privacy policy.
Drive safely
Set the app up before you move, mount your phone where it does not block your view, and keep your eyes on the road. RevLine’s readings are estimates for interest, not certified instruments — never use them in place of your car’s own gauges, and obey every speed limit and traffic law.
Still stuck?
