Privacy Policy

RevLine has no accounts, no servers and no analytics. The app makes no network requests of any kind. Nothing you do in RevLine is transmitted to us, because there is nowhere for it to go — we do not operate a server that could receive it. Everything below is detail on that.

Who we are

RevLine (“the App”) is published by Best Day Labs, LLC (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what the App does with information on your device. You can reach us at support@bestdaylabs.com.

The short version

No accounts

There is no sign-up, no login, no profile and no identifier of any kind. We never ask for your name, email address, phone number or date of birth.

What the App stores on your device

All of the following is written to storage on your iPhone, inside the App’s own container. None of it is uploaded, synced to a cloud service of ours, backed up to a server of ours, or shared with anyone.

You can delete every saved drive from inside the App at Settings → Delete all drives, and you can turn off saving entirely at Settings → Save drives. Deleting the App removes all of it from your device.

Location

The App asks for location access “while using the App” so it can do the thing it exists to do: show your speed and heading on the dashboard, and draw the route of the drive you just took.

Your location is read on your device and used on your device. We never receive it. It is written only into the saved drives described above, which stay on your iPhone.

The App does not request background or “always” location access, and does not track your location when it is closed. You can change or revoke access at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services.

Motion & Fitness

If you allow it, the App reads the motion activity history your iPhone already keeps — the record of when the phone detected it was in a moving vehicle — so that driving you did without opening RevLine still counts towards your driver level and streak.

This is read when you open the App, used to award progress, and never leaves the device. It is optional and can be turned off at Settings → Count driving while the app is closed, or revoked in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Motion & Fitness. The App never runs in the background for this and never uses your location for it.

Microphone

The App offers an optional feature that listens to your engine through the microphone to estimate engine speed when no OBD2 adapter is connected. It is off unless you turn it on.

When it is on, audio is analysed live on your device to measure a frequency, and is then discarded. Nothing is recorded, nothing is written to storage, and no audio is transmitted anywhere. You can revoke microphone access at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone.

Bluetooth and local network

If you use an OBD2 adapter, the App uses Bluetooth or your local network to talk to it. This is a direct connection between your iPhone and the adapter plugged into your car. The App uses these permissions only to find and communicate with that adapter, and the readings it returns are used on your device and saved with your drives as described above.

Notifications

If you allow notifications, the App can send one weekly recap of your driving. It is scheduled locally on your device by iOS. There is no push server, and we send nothing. You can turn it off in the App or in iOS Settings.

Purchases

Subscriptions are sold through Apple’s In-App Purchase system. Apple processes the payment and tells the App only whether a subscription is currently active. We never see and never receive your name, card details, billing address or Apple Account information. Apple’s handling of that information is governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy.

Links out of the App

The App contains links to products on Amazon — an OBD2 adapter and a phone mount. Opening one leaves RevLine and hands you to Amazon or your browser, where their own privacy practices apply. We may earn a commission on purchases made through those links, at no extra cost to you. We receive no information about you from Amazon beyond aggregate commission reporting, which does not identify individual customers.

The App also offers to open your email client to contact support. Whatever you choose to write in that email is sent to us by you, and we use it only to answer you.

No analytics, no advertising, no third parties

The App contains no analytics framework, no advertising network, no attribution or install-tracking software, no crash-reporting service and no third-party SDK of any kind. We do not use cookies or any similar technology, and we do not build a profile of you. We have nothing to sell or share, and we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are used in United States state privacy laws.

Children

RevLine is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone. Because the App collects no personal information at all, there is nothing for us to delete; if you have a concern, write to us and we will help.

Your rights

Privacy laws including the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation and the California Consumer Privacy Act give you rights to access, correct, delete and port the personal information a company holds about you, and to object to its processing.

We hold no personal information about you, so there is nothing for us to return, correct, delete or transfer. The data the App creates is in your possession on your iPhone: you can view it in the App, delete it in the App, and remove all of it by deleting the App. We will never discriminate against you for exercising any privacy right.

Data retention and security

We retain nothing, because we receive nothing. Data created by the App is stored on your iPhone and protected by the device’s own security, including its passcode and encryption. Keeping your device updated and locked is the most effective protection for it.

International users

Best Day Labs, LLC is based in the United States. Because no information about you is transmitted to us, no international transfer of your personal information takes place when you use the App.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new date at the top. If a change ever means the App begins collecting information — which we have no plan to do — we will say so clearly and ask for your consent where the law requires it.
